GOD’S GRACE, GENEROSITY AND GLADNESS

(June 03, 2024) Norman and Margaret Moss share a precious valuable meditation…

There was a room in the Russian Catherine Palace called by some to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. It was known as the Amber Room. Looted by the Nazis in 1941, it has become a lost treasure that may never be found.

Amber is an interesting and valuable gemstone. Yet not quite a gemstone as it comes from a kind of resin found in ancient trees which became fossils. We get the name electricity from it because it has static electrical qualities.

In the past, and before the invention of glass, it was found sufficiently transparent to magnify other objects, and may even have been used as a burning glass to be the means of lighting fire. But it is its beauty that is the greatest value: it might almost be described as a kind of transparent gold.

To jewellers it can be a very precious stone indeed. It is interesting that a substance formed by a tree to protect itself from scars or invading insects should prove to be so precious and so valuable.

We like to think that our creator God knew that we would appreciate the beauty of this honey coloured substance and that He included it among the ‘all things which are given us richly to enjoy’ (1Timothy 6:17NKJV).

Great Waves
Margaret and I were meditating on John 1:16NASB: ‘Out of His fullness we have all received grace upon grace’ and we felt the Lord was saying –

‘My grace is as constant as the waves of the sea, flowing over you in warmth and gentleness. Yet my grace is as varied as the fruits of the earth, different flavours, different fragrances and aromas, different colours and shades of colour. My grace is always satisfying, always surprising, always sufficient and always manifold and abundant.

‘You receive from my fullness, from my treasuries which are greater than the universe, let alone greater than the oceans of earth! Delight yourself in my goodness, and look to see my glory everywhere. Explore the promised land allotted to you, drive out that which opposes and enter into the harvest fields with songs in your hearts.

Great Waterfall
Be generous because I am generous, gracious because my heart is kind toward you, and merciful because I have forgiven you. Love others, because I have loved you with a never failing love.

‘My blessings towards you and my people are nonstop. Just look at my grace –  it is so full and free, It is as a great waterfall of grace that will never dry up, falling, falling, full and free. Ever seek to soak yourself in it.

‘It is indeed one blessing after another, coming thick and fast for there is no end to my blessings. I AM rich in blessing, so look to me at all times for I will fill your lives again and again with my goodness and my gladness.’

May you ever seek to soak yourself in God’s grace, generosity and gladness, so that you are ever softened by His Spirit!

  1. Dear Norman and Margaret… the meditation you share is a very real source of refreshment and I was drawn to the phrase ‘I AM rich in blessing.’
