(May 03, 2025) Norman and Margaret Moss share another precious meditation…
We went into a restaurant recently and found our table. On it was an imitation rack for Scrabble letters, the tiles spelling out the word RESERVED.
Our son- in-law who enjoys a game of Scrabble said, ‘That’s wrong.’ Of course we asked why and the reply was ‘You can only have up to seven tiles at a time on your rack.’
Well… it gave us something to meditate on for a few moments.
Later on Margaret and I were meditating on something more substantial— God’s precious word! And we were led to particularly read Deuteronomy 8:3, which says: ‘To teach you that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.’
And we felt the Lord was saying—
‘Many words are spoken— some ill-considered, but my words are pure and straightforward and give you good guidance. Those who do what I say are truly blessed. So never let my words fall from your mind, instead keep them in the forefront of your thoughts and follow me in all things.
‘Love my words and live my words for they teach you how to live and those who live by them shall live richly in me. For I am not a dissembler, I never exaggerate or minimise. You can trust my word like no other. So trust in me and you will be blessed.
‘My Son lived by my word and fed on it. Because He believed He could not only feed Himself, He fed others— five thousand, later four thousand. Still today I work miracles of provision and you have heard the testimony of those who have experienced these wonders. Look at your own life and see how I have blessed you and provided for you.
‘It is good for you to hunger and thirst for righteousness, to desire to experience my love in increasing measure, to feed and satisfy your soul. Yet as you hunger and thirst know that you also are satisfied. Your prayers are answered, your daily bread is given to you. I give you abundantly both food on your table, and blessings in your heart. I bring you into my banqueting chamber and my banner over you is love.
‘Live on my word. Devour it and seek out its delights. Listen for my prophetic word and nourish your spirit as I reveal myself to you. Be zealous for me as I give myself to you. Walk with me and nothing shall make you afraid.’

God’s word is food for the soul!
