(October 09, 2025) Norman and Margaret Moss share another encouraging meditation…

Margaret and I grew up with rationing. Ration books were first issued in 1940 in the UK and continued till 1954. So in our teenage years everything was in short supply and strictly rationed.

The ration did not mean you had plenty. It was the bare minimum!

When rationing ended we still experienced financial struggle and hardship for many years. Later on in our lives things vastly improved for us, but we are conscious that many believers experience far worse struggles than we have ever known.

Relax in God’s Love
However the same was true for the apostle Paul— and few if any of us are literally in chains! Yet Paul wrote these words:

‘And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work’ (2Corinthians 9:8).

As we read those words Margaret and I felt the Lord was saying—
‘Know that my grace abounds in every way towards you. So don’t fret or worry that you will not have enough. For I AM enough for you!

‘Simply relax in my love and provision for you and you will always have enough and be enough! Look to me at all times and you will experience my provision. My grace is so great, so pure, so lovely. You will always have enough.

‘Look in every direction and you will see that I am a lavish God. Harvest fields ripen, fruit trees bear abundant crops. Birds multiply despite their predators. Creation is prolific and full of beauty because that is what I am like.

‘When my enemy is finally overcome the new heavens and the new earth will be stunningly beautiful, lavishly blessed, above anything you can now imagine! So receive with gratitude and thanksgiving, and seek to be generous as I am generous. For I do supply your need, and much more than that.

‘Believe also that I bless you spiritually. You are not yet made perfect, but I have given you the grace you need. Just be careful to heed my promptings and we will walk on together hand in hand into the glory that is to come.’
