EL SALVADOR PRESIDENT CUT MURDER RATE 50%, AFFIRMS FAITH IN JESUS

(January 23, 2024) Daniela Argueta shares …

El Salvador’s new president Nayib Bukele cut the homicide rate by 50% in his first year of tenure, and he did it by locking up all MS-13 gangbangers.

‘The best thing that happened to us as a nation was to get rid of those rapists and murderers, and let the good people thrive’ tweeted Bukele in October of 2023. His drastic and civil-liberties-suspending crackdown has won wide admiration for the Christian president.

Clean break from the deep-seated corruption
Weary of politicians who make promises only to gain power and siphon off money from the country’s coffers, people in surrounding countries also want someone like him in power. Memes originating from Guatemala offered anything in exchange for him to govern their country. Even a survey in Colombia found 55% of respondents want a Bukele-type president.

NAZI WAR CRIMINAL’S SON FLIES TO ISRAEL TO PRAY

(November 01, 2023) Charles Gardner shares another great testimony…

Werner Oder is the son of SS Scharfuhrer Wilhelm Oder, who was complicit in the murder of approximately 2000 Jewish men, women and children during World War II.

Recently he flew to Israel to encourage the people there to remain strong in the midst of the barbarity committed against them.

Radical conversion
The Austrian-born pastor, who leads Tuckton Christian Centre in Bournemouth, England, had a radical conversion to Christ who set him free from the demonic spirit of antisemitism and gave him a special love for the Jewish people.

JEWISH ATHEIST FINDS JESUS, BECOMES A MISSIONARY

(August 21, 2023) Charles Gardner shares another great testimony…

How does a Jewish atheist brought up on an Israeli kibbutz end up a missionary to his own people?

Asaf Pelled, 43, admits that being an atheist and Jewish is something of an anomaly in view of being one of God’s chosen people, but he was far from alone on that score.

Asking life’s big questions
So he initially settled for the notion that he had evolved from apes and needed to make the most of it – until, as a teenager, he began to ask the big questions of life.

Though describing himself as very rational, he nevertheless came to the realisation that there is indeed a God. ‘I wasn’t religious, but all of a sudden I couldn’t deny that there is a God. I saw His hand in nature and events in our nation. So I went looking for this God.’

IRRITATING ROOMMATE WOULDN’T STOP TALKING ABOUT JESUS

(October 13, 2022) Michael Ashcraft shares…

The roommate of Tom Payne annoyed the hell out of him! Quite literally.

‘Just shut up!’ he said in his mind, frustrated that Jeff would argue with Louie, who had got saved, and that he had to listen to it in their one-bedroom apartment.

Fears become a reality
So when Louie got cornered by a Christian and acceded to go with him to church one day, Tom offered to provide the alibi when the Christian called to accompany him to service. ‘Just hide in the bathroom, and we’ll tell him you’re not in,’ Tom told him.

Tom, then 19, had come from New York to Prescott, Arizona, because it was famous as a college party town. ‘Getting saved wasn’t part of the plan. We were in a prolonged adolescence with the feigned attempt at getting an education,’ Tom said on a Don’t Sell the Farm podcast.

DEMANDING GOD ALWAYS DOES IMMEDIATELY WHAT WE WANT?

(May 28, 2021) Maureen McQuillan responds to a concern about certain demandings…

Dear Pastor Maureen
I repeatedly hear scriptures quoted in a way that sounds like a demand that ‘God must do it (whatever) because his word says… (some scripture is then quoted). I’ll try to explain what’s troubling me.

For example, 1 Peter 2:24 is repeatedly quoted when someone requests prayer for healing. Now admittedly people have got healed, but I feel like God is being belittled in that he must do whatever we want or else… this isn’t word for word, but almost like: ‘God, you must heal immediately because your word says so in 1 Peter 2:24!’ And if the person doesn’t get healed, it’s said that their faith isn’t strong enough. Sorry, Maureen, if I’m not making myself clear enough. Kelvin

Dear Kelvin

I understand exactly what’s troubling you… and agree that God is not some pinball machine!

Regarding healing, yes, we should believe that God is the miracle-working God. Countless times he has responded to our asking for healing… or a miracle or whatever! We praise him for many documented testimonies confirming his goodness and demonstrated love, such as those in GodReports – example: God had Other Plans for Covid-19 Lost Cause.

OVERWHELMED BY GOD’S STRONG LOVE

(March 11, 2021) Amber Varela, studying at Lighthouse Christian Academy, Los Angeles, brings shares a ReachOut testimony...

On 24-hour shifts, rifle-ready Lee Yih would peer across the border into East Germany, guarding against Soviet troops that never came. On his days off, the U.S. Army soldier fought with his wife and got stoned.

‘I was really aliened, Lee says. ‘I was just a loser, just not functioning in life.’

Before he lost his way in life, Lee Yih says he was born with great ambitions to be rich – a stark contrast to growing up as the offspring of a date rape in a single parent home. Being Asian, he felt like an outcast among all-white classmates in Mount Joy, Iowa.

Feeling lonely, unloved
‘I hated to be Chinese. I told my mom I wanted to be white. In the town where I grew, there were no other Chinese people and I wanted so much to fit in. Basically, I had no identity.’ His mother bristled at his rebellious rejection of Asian culture, so she shipped him off to Taiwan to learn Chinese when he was 15 years old.

‘I got worse problems because where once I felt so Chinese in Iowa and so foreign and not fitting in, now I was really not fitting in because I’m in China and so American!’ he recounts.

Then a friend invited him to a Christian camp. ‘I got snookered into going to a Baptist youth camp,’ he remembers. (more…)
