serving God

BE BLESSED AS YOU FAITHFULLY SERVE GOD!

Editorial Notation:
It was 56 years ago that a young man responded to God’s call to serve Him faithfully… and he did, willingly. I have known Dr Sam for many years and can declare him as an achiever for God’s kingdom, having had the honour of ministering in the main church as well as some of his outreaches. I also had the joy of being special speaker at a Nehemiah Bible College graduation service, encouraging the enthused graduating students eager to minister in the Holy Spirit to their fellow countryfolk.

I count this servant of faith as my brother-in-Christ. He and his family know their calling in God and haven’t hesitated to be led by Him, always relying on the Holy Spirit to win souls for Jesus, open doors, provide needed finance and enable them to be accomplish whatever the ministry challenges have been, still are. And God has blessed them all!

What the ministry has accomplished over the past 56 years (celebrated earlier this month) through ready willingness to serve God is incredible! May Dr Sam’s article this month encourage readers to be daring and ‘go for it in God.’

It has blessed greatly me to support Dr Sam and Echo of His Call Ministries in whatever way I can, especially his special daily YouTube broadcasts. Karthar ungalai aasivathipar! Bhagwan tumhare saath ho!

(August 26, 2024) S. Sam Selva Raj encourages and strongly challenges…

Abounding with God’s blessings is the reward of leading a faithful life! But this is not always seen… and some Christians can wrongly think, ‘What is the use of living a faithful life?’

Take heart! The truth is that those who are faithful to God and His wishes receive divine help abundantly!

A faithful person will abound with blessings…’ confirms Proverbs 28:20NASB. CJB (Complete Jewish Bible) reads, ‘A trustworthy person will receive many blessings.’ Message: ‘Committed and persistent work pays off.’

God will—

  • Listen to the faithful servant’s prayers.
  • Answer their applications in His perfect timing.
  • Help when they are in danger.

ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER TO GROW STRONGER IN FAITH

(May 07, 2023) Carol Round encourages us to bless others.

Meeting over lunch with a Christian friend, I wanted to encourage her during her time of uncertainty and need.

She’d lost her job and was now working at our church as the senior pastor’s administrative assistant. However, the pay was much less than her previous job.

1 Thessalonians 5:11ERV tells us to ‘… encourage each other and help each other grow stronger in faith, just as you are already doing.’

My faith grew through tough times
So, since I could relate, I shared stories of how God had provided for me after I retired almost 20 years ago. After taxes and health insurance, I could barely meet my needs.

I’d obeyed God’s leading when I left my 30-year teaching career to write full-time. But He provided not only for my needs but opened doors of opportunity. Those doors led to ways to supplement my retirement income.

As I continued to share the stories of God’s miraculous provision at just the right times in my life, my friend was amazed. I also knew, without a doubt, that my friend was in the right place, serving in our church. (And I’m also not the only church member who believes our friend is right where God wants her).

CHARGE!

(February 10, 2023) Dr Jim McClure challenges us to make the right choice…

Joshua was Moses’ ‘right-hand-man’ during the 40 years Israel spent in the wilderness, then he became Israel’s leader when Moses died, led the people into the Promised Land and served them faithfully as their leader for some decades after that until his death at the age of 110.

When the days of his leadership had come to an end, he gathered the people of Israel together and gave them his final charge which was reflective, challenging and called for a response.

His charge is still relevant to us today!

1. Circumstances (Joshua 24:1)
Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem.’ He chose Shechem as the gathering place for this momentous event as it was a place of promise, challenge and commitment from the time of Abraham.

Then he reminded the Israelites that God had enabled them to accomplish amazing things and they had now secured a foothold in the Promised Land.

They had arrived at a time when a new era was about to begin.

2. History (Joshua 24:2-13)
In these verses we read Joshua’s brief historical summary of the people of Israel from the days of Abraham to their entry into and settlement in the Promised Land.

He gave this review to demonstrate how gracious and powerful God was and to affirm how critical it was to have Him in their lives and to faithfully follow His directions.
