JUST AS JESUS HAS SAID!

(April 03, 2025) Norman and Margaret Moss share another precious meditation…

It could be argued that Rudyard Kipling’s Just So stories should be called ‘Just not so.’

The rhinoceros, for instance, did not get his wrinkled skin because long ago he took off his skin and left it on the beach while he went swimming, and someone put cake crumbs inside to make it itchy. However Rudyard Kipling’s little daughter wanted the stories told just so which is how they got their name.

Margaret celebrated her 90th Birthday in February with a family birthday party, and for the 39 close family who came it was just so— exactly what we all wanted.

The Lord often answers our prayers, and it is ‘Just So.’  But as we all know sometimes it is—

  • ‘Just wait’ and sometimes
  • ‘Just no.’

Often when we look back we are glad that He said ‘No’— at other times we simply trust that He knows best.

How great it is to be able to look forward to the next life because when we get there it will be just so.  Just as He promised… and if not He would have told us.

Easter will soon be here and we were meditating on Mark 14 16, ‘The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them.’

And we felt the Lord was saying—
‘I teach you to number your days with wisdom, to be always on the watch for my coming. And in saying this I do not mean that you are to spend hours considering the date and time which you have been told is not to be known. My intention is that you should be watchful against complacency, cynicism, fearfulness, and similar enemies.

‘Be aware of my presence, and walk before me so that should I come suddenly you would not be ashamed. I have given you all things richly to enjoy. A feast is good, whether of food, of natural beauty, of music, of good literature. Human companionship is good and moreover in meeting others you have opportunity to help and to bless.

‘Above all things enjoy my presence. Be often in the secret place where I can prepare you for what is to come, so that you are ready and alert. For the supper of the Lamb is coming just as I have told you. Always be ready that you may meet me without a sense of failure or regret.

‘So it will always be “Just as I had told them.” Rely on me in all things and one day you will see me and hear my voice and there will be great rewards for all those who have faithfully followed me. Lean on me increasingly. I would have you feel my presence with you day by day. For this is how I AM with you— right by your side—  so enjoy me.’

So we thank you, Lord. We rely on everything you have ever said—  for it will always come about. It is truly wonderful that we can always rely on you. It will be just as you have promised!
