GOT DIFFICULTY TRUSTING GOD?

(May 29, 2025) Robert and Maureen McQuillan encourage troubled hearts…

Well… be comforted in that you’re not the only one! Recently we’ve encouraging a number of believers to hang in there and not give their faith away just because they’re going through some rough times.

We also reminded them that for some three years Satan, our great enemy, has been spreading a cunning spirit of deception among us— and that sadly some have fallen for his trickery.

Then we stun them by challenging them to know that God hasn’t finished trusting them! Yes, you may be finding it difficult to trust God but He hasn’t turned His back on you! Know it… believe it with your mind… and heart!

And know also that if God is to trust us, He may allow us to be challenged in some way— even by Himself— as happened with some biblical individuals.

HIDING FROM GOD? HAVEN’T YOU GOT IT YET?

(May 08, 2025) Dr Richard Winter shares a vital challenge…

I’m sure that most know the story of Anne Frank… the young Jewish girl who hid in a secret hiding place in a Dutch house in 1942 hiding from the Nazis during the occupation of the Holland. Two years later Anne was discovered and tragically died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.

And there’s the fabulous true story told in the book titled The Hiding Place about another Dutch girl, Corrie ten Boom. It tells how Corrie and her family’s courageous act of hiding Jews during the Nazi occupation of Holland in World War II.

Their life was disrupted when the Nazis begin persecuting Jews in Holland, leading Corrie and her family to become part of the Dutch Underground, hiding those in danger. They are eventually captured and sent to concentration camps, where their faith helped them endure the horrific conditions.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GOD IS FOR US?

(February 10, 2025) Mama Lava, sharing from her heart, challenges us to trust our loving and caring God…

February! What a great month!

And what a perfect topic we have on the Back Porch: God is for us!

Initially I didn’t chose this topic on purpose. Last year, as I sat with the Lord, planning a 2025 roadmap through the topic of overcomimg anxiety, I did not realise how appropriate it would be to talk about God being for us during this month of love. But, my friends, that is how God works! He knew what He wished me to share this month— and His timing is perfect.

HUMBLE SHEPHERDS HEARD IT FIRST!

(December 07, 2024) Dr Richard Winter encourages…

Image a dark night on a lonely hillside scenario…

‘Feel cold, Mordie?’ asks Nathaniel. But before Mordecai can answer young Elijah opines: ‘It’s always cold out here at night! Why ask such silly questions?’ Before Nathaniel can respond, Jacob interrupts with ‘Listen… can you hear… see something?’

Those lonely shepherds are instantly troubled. Maybe a hungry wolf. The nearby village is asleep, the sheep were asleep, now they’re disturbed. The shepherds pull their robes a little tighter and inch closer to a small fire.

And suddenly—

BURDENED ABOUT SICKNESS? TRUST GOD!

(October 31, 2024) Robert McQuillan shares sincerely…

Since I shared back in June (COMPASSIONATE GOD AND DIVINE HEALING | Connecting with You!) about trusting God for divine healing and acknowledging that He is the healing, miracle-working God, several folk have thanked me, others have asked to learn more. Some have mentioned about illnesses and some about how sicknesses and growing older (that dreaded aging thing!) have restricted their ministry and effectiveness in serving God.

I simply tell people to trust God implicitly, not to be concerned about age (David was a kid whereas Moses is regarded as an old man when commissioned by God. Many ‘old’ Christians have continued to effectively serve the Lord… for example David Hathaway 92-year-old Evangelist to Hold Ukraine Rally).

But I also suggest relaxing and pulling back from some aspects of ministry and other matters if necessary. I’ve personally had to do so, yet the Lord keeps opening doors to witness and pray for people including strangers. Most importantly I tell people, especially Christians, not to neglect the advice of the medical profession.

HOW WE THINK REALLY MATTERS!

(October 08, 2024) Angeline Selvakumari encourages knowing what God thinks of us and how we should think about ourselves…

Benjamin Franklin, regarded as a founding father of the United States, once stated, ‘If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.’ Profoundly impactful words! Planning is a crucial aspect of our lives.

  • Some individuals excel at both planning and execution.
  • Others may plan but struggle to implement their strategies.
  • Sadly there’s another group that doesn’t plan at all, just chooses to go with the flow.

I wonder, dear reader, which category do you belong to?

Reality
The Bible reminds us that ‘Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails’(Proverbs 19:21); Proverbs 16:9 states:In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.’

BAAL PERAZIM — THE LORD OF BREAKTHROUGHS!

(August 07, 2024) Angeline Selvakumari encourages us to discover God’s barrier shattering power…

Greetings to all my Echo of His Call extended family. It is always a great joy to connect with you all.

The Bible teaches us that God makes all things beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This includes our seasons which around the world season are changing… and every season possesses its unique beauty. We require both the heat and the rain for growth.

As Solomon said, there is a time and a season for everything under the sun. Now I’m unsure of the season you have experienced thus far this year— but remember, the best is yet to come! The crucial aspect is learning to embrace God’s promises. Often, we are aware of God’s promises but struggle to make them ours.

1. Achievement With God
It may take weeks, months, years, or even decades to witness God’s promises manifest in our lives. David waited more than 15 to 20 years to see the prophecy over his life fulfilled, from Samuel anointing him to becoming the king of Israel.

SING! SING! SING!

(April 09, 2024) Brian Bell encourages joyful praise of God with our Christian music…

In his letter to the Ephesians, chapter 5:18-19 (NLT), Paul gives us some advice about living in the Spirit – ‘…let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord.’

And in Colossians 3:16NLT, Paul also encourages our worship along the same lines – ‘Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use His words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.’

Singing – a Heritage
From my earliest childhood, I was brought under the sound of Christian music. I sang in the children’s choir and later in the church choir. This influence grew when I became a Christian in my mid-teens and began to take a keen interest in the Christian music of my generation.

ENCOURAGEMENT, STRENGTH AND HOPE IN TROUBLED TIMES

(November 15, 2023) Wayne Swift shares encouragingly…

Paul was so concerned about the troubles the Thessalonian Christians were encountering that he didn’t hesitate in sending young Timothy to help them. As he wrote in 1Thessalonians 3:2-3, Timothy was directed ‘… to strengthen and encourage you in your faithso that no one would be unsettled by these trials.’

Knowing the circumstances of the fledgling Thessalonian congregation and the likelihood of ongoing persecution, Paul reminded them of his concern for those troubled Christians and encouraged them in their faith.

Encouraging means to give hope and the apostle was a great encourager of Christians and churches. A top example to us in these troubled days!

Faith-directed encouragement
Encouragement provides both hope and support in difficult situations and is welcomed.

THE GOD OF THE ‘FEAR NOT!’

(September 17, 2023) S. Sam Selva Raj encourages troubled hearts.

Heard individuals say something along the lines of  ‘Every morning I wake up only to be confronted with indescribable problems.’

They talk of burdensome problems – physical, emotional, career, financial, or family-related – constant worries that weigh them down. Frequently, they express their feelings saying, ‘This is all too overwhelming for me to handle. My problems continue to pile up and defeat me! I don’t have the strength to fight them any longer. How will I ever make it?’

What about you, dear reader?
Are you facing such experiences? Our ministry receives letters from troubled souls (even some saints) undergoing extremely difficult circumstances and asking for help. I highlight a couple –
