Jehovah Rapha – the God who heals

MANDATE MINISTRIES UPDATE

(September 06, 2024) Ross and Donna, Mandate Ministries, share from Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, including news regarding Ross’ health…

Myanmar’s Karen People’s Smiles
We will never cease to be amazed at the tremendous resilience of the Karen people who have been forced to flee their villages and live in the dense jungle and in caves.

We are blessed to be able to provide food and supplies, and see their smiling faces in the midst of adversity in Myanmar.

Ross’ Health Update
Ross has a CT scan this week followed by discussion with his oncology doctor. The results showed the cancer in the liver has grown substantially, so she is discontinuing his treatment since it isn’t working.

However, it looks like Ross will be accepted into a clinical trial testing a new form of immunotherapy. The approval could be as soon as next week which the doctor thought was quite incredible.

So although we are thankful for this opportunity, at the end of the day our trust and hope are in the Lord, who is our Jehovah Rapha. The bigger the challenge, the bigger the miracle needed! Thanks for your prayers!

Land of Oz Ministry
Ross will continue his ministry to churches in Australia until we can get back to Thailand. We are grateful for the opportunities that God has given us to share in some amazing churches,

Motorcycle Project
Our Karen project manager, who identifies the most needy areas and arranges deliveries of provisions for the Karen people, is in desperate need of a good off-road motorcycle.

The roads are very dangerous for riding a street bike, particularly in the rainy season.

We have located a low mileage, Kawasaki KLX for $2,300 (new price $4,600). If you would like to donate towards this need, or to our Karen ministry in general, please use the link in the prayer request section below. Thank you!

Many Thanks
Thanks again for your faithful prayers and support of our ministry to Asia.

COMPASSIONATE GOD – DIVINE HEALING

(June 30, 2024) Robert McQuillan sincerely shares…

Many years ago when a Pentecostal pastor whom I had never before requested me to teach his church on faith healing, I really threw him when I initially declined. When asked why, I replied that although faith is involved, godly healing is not faith healing but divine healing.

I went on to share that there had been times when I prayed for healing for those who either had no real faith or very little, even non-Christians, and by God’s grace they got relieved, either at the time – in the case of pain – or as I learned later.

Several scriptures in both Testaments shine with God’s compassion – and His Son’s. I’d simply exercised faith as I claimed God’s compassion, quoted His word and prayed in Jesus’ name.

Compassionate Divine Healing
Faith in God is tops… but even Christians can be weak in exercising of faith!

There’s an old saying – ‘Life is life… and bad things can/may happen even to Christians!’ And there’s a number of things that can result in people being sick, such as the following –

DIVINE, NOT FAITH, HEALING!

(February 14, 2022) Robert McQuillan shares…

Personally, I strongly believe in God’s power to heal whoever calls on Him when sickness strikes.

It used to be common that Christians testified on Sundays about having asked God for healing and how He had answered them! They wanted to share how trusting God and His word had resulted. But for many years trendy music, overdone announcements and tithing mini-sermons have been more important!

Today, in many churches it’s a rarity to invite slickly people to respond to an altar call for prayer in respect of needed miracles.

Don’t church leaders believe in the power of God’s word regarding healing? Have they forgotten how to pray with confidence? Has the great truth of divine, not faith, healing by God’s power been forgotten, no longer understood?

Positive power words
Maureen
and I delight to pray positively for sickly folk, having experienced several divine healings – and miracles – ourselves over a lifetime.

Example: Years ago we were asked to teach a church camp about healing and praying for the sick. But… Friday I suddenly developed a severely sore throat, and couldn’t talk.

Now I could have phoned and hoarsely whispered a negative ‘I can’t come Saturday.’ But I didn’t. Instead we stayed overnight enroute with good friends who made me a cosy bed on a comfortable couch before a roaring log fire. Feeling so ill, I enjoyed a hot drink, sucked honey and relaxed.

Appreciating the comforts, I prayed positively to God, asking in Jesus’ name that He graciously heal me, confirming that I trusted Him to restore me. Even claimed a healing scripture that means so much to me… 1 Peter 2:24b: ‘By His wounds (stripes) you have been healed,’ and endeavoured to fall asleep.
