Matthew 22:39

THE FOCUSED CHRIST

(August 17, 2024) Wayne Swift again calls it as it is…

Focus

Now that’s a word meaning ‘the main or central point of something, especially of interest or attention.’

Did you ever realise that your salvation depended on Jesus’ focused resolution to suffer the cross and all that that entailed? That before Christ even went to the cross He had to focus on His commitment to the task ahead.

Jesus’ Origins
It’s amazing really that Almighty God had made the incredible decision to come to this world in human form as Jesus Christ for our sakes!

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY… MEETING NEEDS IN LOVE

May 27, 2022) David McGuire missionary to Romania, shares…

Yet again I find myself thanking Jesus for life itself – and for the honour of serving Him. And for the strength of His grace enabling Rodica and I and friends, real teamwork, help the hurting and needy, not only here in Romania but also in Ukraine when we venture up there to reach distressed Ukrainians.

And I thank you all, both personal contacts and charities contacts within the body of Christ, who pray and back us in our evangelistic ministry.

We continue to witness many great things that only God can do through the Holy Spirit as He uses us here and our ventures to Ukraine.

The reality is that He works through all of us. Do keep praying for us, please… but remember the principle is that God wants every Christian to be available to serve Him. May we all be working together for our king Jesus!

Following are some recent photos in respect of the team we work with to spread the gospel message, not only spiritually but practically with Christian love

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

(November 23, 2021) Maureen McQuillan has a different slant to reaching out…

Not the A Night to Remember movie about the Titanic tragedy, rather an unusual summer evening when Robert had been invited to minister at a European church outside of Melbourne. Maybe I should call this article A Night of Surprises, or… Suffering.

We have great articles this month reminding us to reach out to people, even strangers, and bless them whether they know Jesus or not. And taking opportunities to witness him, the only light in this dark world.

Such reaching out to bless someone closeby – that ‘love thy neighbour’ matter Jesus highlighted (Matthew 22:39) – reminds me of how our Christian neighbours bless us meaningfully. They kindly bring our bins up, even taking them down if see Robert struggling with them.

And I’d like to remind us that reaching out isn’t always about ‘spiritual matters’… it includes being practical and doing so even if it’s inconvenient, embarrassing. So let me share about such an opportunity to bless a stranger… from a different point of view.

Sinister
That particular Sunday evening was many years ago and coming out our frontdoor, my first surprise was seeing Robert looking down at the patio at a strange, cultic-like object, made of Wicca-type sticks! Who had left them? Robert picked them up carefully and suggested we pray again before setting off.
