SEIZING KAIROS MOMENTS: NAVIGATING LIFE’S HILLS AND VALLEYS

(September 06, 2024) Richard Winter encourages…

Life is a journey — you will go somewhere!

When you were born, you started your journey wherever your parents were. Life happens and you move around experiencing ups and downs… good times, bad times, sad times —  and learning times. Life can be described as the geography of moments of TIME.

Kairos Moments
There are two ancient Greek words used in scripture regarding time — chronos being about quantitative or exact minutes, such as Matthew 2:7 querying Jesus’ birth, and kairos about qualitative moments.

Regarding kairos, Ephesians 5:15-17ESV reads, ‘Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.’

BAAL PERAZIM — THE LORD OF BREAKTHROUGHS!

(August 07, 2024) Angeline Selvakumari encourages us to discover God’s barrier shattering power…

Greetings to all my Echo of His Call extended family. It is always a great joy to connect with you all.

The Bible teaches us that God makes all things beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This includes our seasons which around the world season are changing… and every season possesses its unique beauty. We require both the heat and the rain for growth.

As Solomon said, there is a time and a season for everything under the sun. Now I’m unsure of the season you have experienced thus far this year— but remember, the best is yet to come! HOW ARE YOU HANDLING HOLY WEEK?

(April 05, 2023) Mama Lava caringly asks a question…

Hi again! How are you all?

I’m honoured that you’ve joined me on the Back Porch today! And I have a sincere question for you… How are you handling Holy Week?

I don’t mean your plans, agendas, and schedules. I am not asking about church services, egg hunts, and family gatherings. I am referring to your inner wellbeing.

Are you conflicted? Do you recognise the joyous meaning of Easter, but find it difficult to overcome the lofty burdens you are currently carrying?

Me too! It can be challenging to focus on victory when we feel threatened by defeat. But God is ministering to me through an unlikely character in the Easter story, the stone.

SO – BE QUIET!

(August  6, 2017) Tim Edwards brings a timely word based on 2 Kings 2: 1-8…

Sometimes life is tough. Sometimes in all our lives there are moments, days, weeks or even lengthy seasons where we struggle to understand what is going on, what to do about it.

As a pastor I have many conversations every week with a variety of people (and not only from my own church) – guess what I am seeing at the moment? Some tough times. I’m very aware that there are large numbers of people who are currently walking through difficult times.

Yes, life can be tough!
The reality is that that life can be tough, is tough, even for great Christians! And I am more and more convinced every day that we as humans, on our own and in our own limited capacity, have no answers at all to help us through the messiness of life.

Our search for purpose, meaning, security, stability, relationships and love is just not found in the things we as humans tend to value and count and attempt to accumulate – money, possessions, power, position, politics, business or anything else for that matter. None of it helps. (more…)
