John 3:16

MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION FOR JESUS!

(November 12, 2024) Dr Richard Winter challenges…

A reality so often overlooked is this— we have no excuse for wrong decision-making regarding God, His wishes and invitations!

Luke 14 tells that one-time Jesus went to a prominent Pharisee’s home for a meal and someone at His table commented, ‘Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God’ (v15).

The eyes of all the other guests were on Jesus (v1) and He immediately took the opportunity to tell a parable of a great (megas exceedingly big!) banquet…

YOU CAN’T ESCAPE TROUBLE!

(October 11, 2024) Carol Round encourages trusting in Jesus in these ongoing troubled times…

Right now, the aftermath of a devastating hurricane that hit the southeastern part of the United States dominates the news. Amid the hurricane’s destruction, the current presidential election season leaves us reeling with concern about the outcome.

Adding to the chaos, we hear constant updates of wars around the world — and the damage and fear war causes mentally, destruction, negativity.

Trouble fills our world. We can’t escape it!
Besides avoiding social media and the 24/7 news cycle, how can we find peace in a broken world?

THE GREATEST STORY: Chapter 2 – The Middle

(September 02, 2024) Dr Jim McClure shares more about The Greatest Story

Following the prophet Malachi’s death there were no further prophetic revelations about Israel. For over 400 years the nation went into spiritual decline, and lost its independence first to the Greeks and then to the Romans.

Throughout the centuries the prophets consistently challenged the moral and social corruption which the Bible describes as ‘darkness’ — but also revealed that God had not turned His back on humankind. While they had strongly denounced humanity’s rejection of God, they also affirmed that this had not resulted in God’s rejection of humankind!  They also revealed that the message of the Old Testament was not the whole story but just the beginning of a much bigger story.

They further indicated that a new chapter would begin when God Himself would personally get involved on planet earth — a chapter revealing God’s loving plan to reach out to a fallen, broken world by becoming personally involved!

WHY ARE YOU FOUR DAYS LATE, LORD?

(July 29, 2024) Richard Winter shares food for serious consideration…

A long time ago — that is before Amazon Prime —  people actually went to brick and mortar stores and bought the necessities and joys of life.

Amazon and Covid changed much of how we live —

  • Amazon will deliver just about anything in a day.
  • Covid stopped you from being with people.
  • We all learned to change our lives.

Covid no longer has its tentacles on our lives, but Amazon does! Amazon has increased our expectations about delivery— ordered yesterday; delivered today. And if it takes four days, most people are having a fit.

Four Days!
That can seem like a lifetime! And in fact it was for two sassy sisters… they had a brother whom they loved, as did Jesus, but he became quite sick and although Jesus had been informed He hadn’t come to see him. And now he’s dead — dead and buried!

HAVE YOU GOT IT, LAH!?

(June 27, 2024) Richard Winter encourages sharing Jesus’s good news…

It’s amazing to be immersed in a new culture. As a young man I was posted with the RAAF to Malaysia – I was surrounded by new sights and smells that at first seemed to be an assault on all my senses… and the people had better suntans than me!

It became obvious I’d better learn the Malay language very quickly! I was to discover one interesting word that was added to everything said in virtually every sentence – Lah. Just a small word, but one of emphasis: a statement and a question in one-word ie…

  • ‘Want to drink, lah!’ can also be ‘Want to drink, lah?
  • ‘Want to eat, lah!’ – ‘Want to eat, lah?
  • ‘Can you see that, lah!’ – ‘Can you see that, lah?

Many of us are operating in a different culture than that we grew up in and we need to know the cultural differences so we can understand and operate in that new culture. I was to spend a lot of time immersed culturally so that I would know what to do, what to expect, how to fit in!

92-YEAR OLD EVANGELIST TO HOLD UKRAINE RALLY

(May 30, 2024) Michael Ashcraft shares encouraging good news …

As David Hathaway stood in front of 1,400 inmates of a Siberian prison in subzero weather 30 years ago, the prison chief scoffed: ‘What can your God do to these men? I’m the only one that can deal with them. I beat them. I shoot them. How can your God change these men?’

God Changes Lives!
After worship, it was David’s turn to address to 200 mass murderers, 400 sex offenders, 800 criminals. ‘I spent a year in a prison like this,’ he said. ‘I know exactly what conditions are like. I know how they starve you, how they beat you. I know something you don’t: I know how to get out of a prison.

WHO WILL TAKE THE SON?

(February 21, 2024) GodReports shares a pointed parable…

In New Orleans, in the mid-1800s, a wealthy merchant, a widower, and his son were known for their rare collection of Old Master paintings, including a Raphael.

Often, after dinner, they would sit together and admire them.

Great distress
When the Civil War broke out, the son went away to fight. He was very courageous and died in battle in the Shenandoah Valley while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply.

A few months later a young man came to the door with a large package. The father answered the bell himself. ‘Sir, you don’t know me,’ said a young man carrying a package. ‘I am the soldier your son died to save.’

SUMMING UP CHRISTMAS

(December 04, 2023) Wayne Swift calls it as it really is regarding Christmas…

1. Someone has to pay
When something goes wrong, the repair costs!

Something went wrong with the church lift and we tried to reset it… but it didn’t work. Eventually we had to have a serviceman come to repair the lift and – surprise, surprise – we had to pay for his time.

  • To put it simply… something went wrong and someone had to pay.

One Friday I noticed a screw in the tyre of Ruth’s car and knew that it was only a matter of time before the tyre went flat, as in this icon. So I had a choice – pay now or pay later. To get the problem fixed I needed to find someone with a solution. Something went wrong and someone had to pay.

ROMANIA SUMMER MINISTRY REFLECTIONS

(October 16, 2023) David McGuire, based in Sighișoara, Romania encourages leaders in their calling, and Christians to operate the 1 Corinthians 12 supernational gifts of the Spirit, boldly engage in spiritual warfare, and to share the gospel message and love of Jesus. He also builds homes for the disenfranchised, especially the local gypsy community.

David, originally from England, and Rodica, his Romanian wife, reach many children, many of whom have never heard of Jesus, through their cartoon DVDs outreaches. David has been called The Missionary With The Camera. He often conveys update reports to readers with his camera, not words! Here he shares some recent summer ministry experiences, including a  reminder that Romanian Christians and churches are still boldly assisting troubled Ukrainians with needed supplies.

David shares (adding photos of course)…
This has been a very full summer with organising conferences in Romania and Ukraine on subjects of counselling, healing evangelism, prophetic and general equipping, such as…

STUNNED, SCARED, SHEPHERDED

(October 08, 2023) Robert McQuillan shares a breakthrough experience to encourage others, especially young believers feeling inadequate in serving Jesus…

According to Dr Fred Luskin, Stanford University, we have approximately 60,000 thoughts per day90% being repetitive!

Well, I woke up with one repetitive thought going round and round in my mind… and couldn’t switch it off! A simple but so meaningful eight-word scripture that’s had my back for decades. Then I started recalling the time some 50 years ago when that verse’s reality hit me, becoming an inner strength that I’ve never forgotten.

‘Which scripture?’ you ask, probably thinking everyone has some Bible verse that’s so meaningful to them.

  • True… John 3:16 for example: ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’
  • Maureen,  my darling wife, delights in Romans 15:13 – ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’
  • What’s your favourite that you cling to in times of troubles?
