YOU ARE CHOSEN BY GOD FOR HIS PURPOSES!

(July 21, 2025) Angeline Selvakumari shares encouragingly…

I thank and praise God for graciously allowing us to step into the second half of 2025. Great is His faithfulness!

As we move forward this year, I wonder how many of us are still holding on to our New Year resolutions. What we are today is the result of the decisions and choices we made yesterday. Similarly, where we will be tomorrow depends on the choices we make today.

Choices and Consequences
Every choice carries consequences!

LET CHRIST TAKE OVER— EMBRACE GOD’S AMAZING GRACE!

(July 20, 2025) Dr Richard Winter challenges…

Most people I have met realise being known as just a ‘good person’ is not good enough! After all, how does one measure goodness? Is my measurement a universal measurement? Can I apply my measurement to every human being?

The Bible’s measurement of human beings tells us that the human condition is broken and sinful and we can’t do or say enough good things to overcome our broken condition. Therefore we need a Saviour— Jesus Christ!

God’s Amazing Grace
But here’s the good news— God offers us forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus and what He accomplished on the cross when He died for our sins. That act of kindness and mercy is God’s grace.

HEARTFELT DECLARATIONS

(July 15, 2025) Brian Bell pinpoints some scriptural truths…

Of all the scriptures contained in our Bible, surely Psalms are the most read. If like me you turn to them frequently, then you may agree the psalmist often seems to be able to reflect the thoughts of one’s heart.

For example, during the past two weeks I found myself in a personal situation for which I was seeking an answer and one morning I read in Psalm 15:4 about those who ‘… keep their promises even when it hurts.’ This gave me the direction I needed to complete a financial transaction!

In Psalm 19 the psalmist presents us with some excellent thoughts which I will share with you dear readers, perhaps similar thoughts to those you may have considered from your own reading. The verses I quote are from my NLT Bible.

ZEPHANIAH— THE PROPHET WHO DECLARED GOD’S JUDGMENT AND RESTORATION(Part 2)

(July 11, 2025) Dr Jim McClure concludes his insights of the book of Zephaniah…

In Part 1 posted a few days ago, at the end of 1. Complaint (1:2-13)—  which covered God’s laments with four classes of people— I stated that because of the foregoing moral and spiritual aberrance, the prophetic message continued with a conclusion.

Here’s what happened—

2. Consequences  (1:14-3:1-7)
(i) Declaration
In Zephaniah 1:14 the warning was given, ‘The great day of the Lord is nearnear and coming quickly. Listen!  The cry on the day of the Lord will be bitter, the shouting of the warrior there.’

ZEPHANIAH— THE PROPHET WHO DECLARED GOD’S JUDGMENT AND RESTORATION(Part 1)

(July 09, 2025) Dr Jim McClure shares deep insights regarding the book of Zephaniah…

Have you ever wondered what God is like?

In his book The Knowledge of the Holy the theologian  A.W. Tozer wrote, ‘What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.’

That statement is very challenging to us because our perception of God and His values by which we live will have a significant influence on our character and behaviour and consequently on our relationships with others. Clearly, therefore, what we think of God is of great significance.

Another viewpoint was given by C. S. Lewis in his book The Weight of Glory in which he expressed this opinion, ‘How God thinks of us is not only more important, but infinitely more important. Indeed, how we think of Him is of no importance except in so far as it is related to how He thinks of us.’

BE TRANSFORMED— NOT CONFORMED!

(July 09, 2025) Carol Round challenges us regarding our discerning…

I like refinishing furniture, taking something old and making it look new. However, I haven’t had time to do that lately. My sister mentioned recently she wanted to refinish a used piece she’d found for sale into a coffee bar for her kitchen.

Like me, she bemoaned the fact of her busyness and not having time to transform the furniture into something new and useful.

Transforming the Mind
In Romans 12:2 Paul talks about a different kind of transformation. This type of transformation isn’t physical… it’s about our mind being transformed so we can ‘be able to test and approve what God’s will is for our lives— His good, pleasing and perfect will.’

BE FULL OF GOD’S KINDNESS— BLESS OTHERS

(July 07, 2025) Norman and Margaret Moss share another precious meditation…

Most pet owners know that they receive love from their pets as well as giving it.

I remember one lady describing to me how a baby had crawled too close to the fire, and her dog rushed forward and dragged the baby away to safety.

But even where there is no long-term relationship there can still be altruism and kindness. A dog was documented protecting an injured pigeon and staying with it until the bird recovered.

FROM ROMANIA TO UKRAINE TO ARIZONIA

(June 29, 2025) David McGuire, Missionary With The Camera, reports again from Romania and Ukraine… and shares about a new missionary venture to America… with his camera.

Needy Ukrainians
As before we again thank everyone who supports— and prays— for our missions-centred trips up into the embattled Ukraine! It can be dangerous at times: know that your caring backs us in helping to continue blessing troubled people up there.

We still journey up into Ukraine to share the gospel of Jesus our Saviour and sources of blessings in these troubled  dark times.

A PERCEPTION OF NAHUM

(June 27, 2025) Brian Bell shares some encouraging points…

In this short meditation we will consider some thoughts from Nahum 1:7NLT— ‘The Lord is good, He is a strong refuge when trouble comes. And He knows everyone who trusts in Him.’

  • The meaning of the name Nahum has the sense of ‘consolation’ or ‘consoler’… and surely in our present day as much as when Nahum spoke these words, we are still in need of a word of consolation from someone the Lord uses to bring His word as a consoler.

LIVING FAITH AND LIBERATING PEACE

(June 25, 2025) John W. Ritenbaugh shares on Hebrews 11:6 and Isaiah 40:28-31

(i) Hebrews 11:6 says:
‘And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him earnestly.’

Because faith is indispensable to a good relationship with God, its importance cannot be overemphasised.

Condition
But notice the condition in this verse. It does not say that God is the rewarder of everyone but ‘of those who diligently seek Him.’
