Snatched from the jaws of the Nazis in the nick of time, a young boy, Heini Fiege, escaped to England to begin a new life.
It was a traumatic parting for Heini and his brother Arthur, aged seven and ten at the time, but their parents, Curt and Trude Fiege could see the writing on the wall and willingly gave up their boys for adoption to save them from the horrors of Auschwitz, where they would have perished within a few short years. According to 1 Kings 8:59, God maintains the cause of his people at all times. How? By the constant intercession ascending to him – flowing like a river from the Son of God and from the Holy Spirit.
Most believers know that Jesus is our high priest who ‘ever lives’ to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25; Rom. 8:34). Few realise that the Holy Spirit also petitions the Father on our behalf. This is a sound biblical truth that we need to know. (more…)

Elizabeth Shreve inspires Christians to be bold in the Holy Spirit…We have all heard 2 Timothy 1:7 so many times … but for the sake of this article I will repeat it to you again: ‘God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and love and a sound mind.’
God really wants you to use that power! It doesn’t take courage to do what you already know you can do. True courage is displayed when you’re afraid to do something, but you go ahead and do it anyway. (more…)
Geraldine Brandt reminds us that what Jesus has done for us will strengthen us to influence others…One of the definitions of ‘remembering’ is ‘bringing the power and reality of the past into the present.’ It is making past events present realities! ‘Impacting’ indicates ‘a strong effect or influence on someone.’
This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit – it is not merely the effort of the mind endeavouring to revert to the past, it is the omnipotence of the Spirit bringing the power of the past into the present. (more…)
