DOES OUR DEFINITION OF ‘GOOD’ MATCH GOD’S?

(September 29, 2025) Mama Lava challenges us regarding our true worship of God.

Worship has several aspects such as singing, praising, thanking, pursuing, and honouring. But here I want to discuss worship through service and good deeds. We all do ‘good deeds’ daily…. we serve someone, something, or many people and things— the ‘good’ we pursue.

And I want to ask a question, dear readers, dear friends— is our definition of ‘good’ aligned with God’s?

Preceptive of Our Definition of Good Deeds
In this connection I’ve been asking myself the following five questions, and now I ask you:

THE ANSWER TO BEATIN’ THE BLUES

(November 07, 2024) Carol Round shares how to overcome the blues in these ongoing troubled times…

We all need encouraging and the apostle Paul wrote gave great advice to the Philippians … which we can apply to ourselves!

Philippians 2:1-4 says, ‘Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,  then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.’

OBADIAH— THE PROPHET WHO DECLARED GOD’S JUDGMENT

(November 06, 2024) Dr Jim McClure shares…

The Old Testament has a collection 12 books called the ‘Minor Prophets.’  They are named ‘Minor’ not because they are unimportant but because they are short, the shortest of all being ‘Obadiah,’ also the shortest book in the Old Testament. Consisting of only one chapter of 21 verses it is easily ignored as not being particularly important.

However, rather than being ‘unimportant’ it is, in fact, a hidden gem but admittedly it can be difficult to follow without knowing the following underlying facts.

VARIETY: CARS, CHARACTER, COLOUR, CHOICE

(August 20, 2024) Mama Lava shares some thoughts… and asks some questions…

Variety… the quality or state of being different or diverse; the absence of uniformity or monotony.

How do you, dear reader, feel about variety? Is it the spice of life? Or is it overrated?

When my husband Michael and I took a short road trip last weekend, I couldn’t help but notice the cars around us throughout the day. They lacked character. Why? So many were all the same colour!

MISSTEPS OF EVEN AN ANOINTED ONE!

(July 10, 2024) Angeline Selvakumari in love warns against being diverted from God’s divine plan for our lives…

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, to all members of our Echo of His Call family worldwide who faithfully read our magazine printed in 16 different languages every month. Grace and peace be yours from our eternal God, who was, and is, and is to come (Revelation 1:4).

This verse provides me with great assurance in every circumstance, knowing that I have a God who understands my past, present, and future, and walks alongside me as a friend and companion. With this assurance, I can face the uncertainties of tomorrow with inner peace, confident in God’s plan and purpose for me — which was ordained even before the creation of the world (Ephesians 2:10).

Reflecting on how intricately God has designed each one of us, I realise that our existence is not accidental but part of a divine plan. Even if one might believe they were unwanted or unexpected by their earthly parents, God has carefully crafted each individual, as stated in Psalms 139:13, ‘You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.’

Therefore, it is our responsibility to seek out and fulfill the purpose for which we were created, with the guidance of the author and finisher of our faith.

FEELING UNWORTHY?

(April 26, 2024) Robert McQuillan shares very personally…

Well, it hit me unexpectedly the other night!

Reflection
Now I admit that I was feeling a little ‘under the proverbial weather’ being tired after a busy day of writing and ghosting (ghostwriting) for our E-Mag, some counselling, encouraging folk and other matters.

Encouraging some ‘seniors’ was directing them to ‘keep on keeping on,’ content with doing whatever God wants of them where they are and, if in ministry, not be concerned about being unable to travel around like they used to do. (Maureen and I have had to do so).
