AGNOSTIC JEWISH PHILOSOPHER FOUND JESUS AFTER READING THIS BOOK

(August 13, 2022) Mark Ellis shares the remarkable story of a martyred converted Jewish  philosopher…

The German Jewish philosopher Edith Stein was born into an observant Jewish family on Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Hebrew calendar, also known as the Day of Atonement.

Despite her family’s strong faith, she became an agnostic in her teens and pursued an academic career, earning a doctorate in philosophy, summa cum laude, with her brilliant dissertation about empathy.

She joined the faculty of the University of Freiburg, where she became an assistant to Edmund Husserl, who had established the school of phenomenology.

‘This is the truth’
In the summer of 1921, Edith spent several weeks at the country estate of a pupil of Husserl’s who had converted to Christianity. One evening she picked up The Autobiography of St. Teresa of Avila. Captivated, she read the book throughout the night.

HITTING THE MISSION FIELD RUNNING – IN HIS SEVENTIES!

(August 12, 2022) Michael Ashcraft brings an encouraging example-for-all story…

Full of youthful energy and untiring passion, German Gastellum wanted a bigger ministry challenge to pour his indefatigable self into – the mission field of Villa del Rosario, Colombia, just across the border from socialism-scourged Venezuela.

Chasing souls with vigour in his 70s
He was a spry 72 then! Yes, you read that right. Seventy-two years old! That’s when he started. Now, he is 75!

‘God gives me the strength through the Holy Spirit,’ he told God Reports at a June Bible conference in Tucson. ‘And the body is healthy. I have been through sicknesses and covid and all that, and I have survived that because of the high defences I have. One, I have spiritual defences; I have prayer and the power of the Holy Ghost working in me, and then I have normal defences and they’re kind of synchronised.’

UNITED VISION FOR ONE BILLION SOULS BY 2030!

(July 25, 2022) Steeve Rees reports inspiring evangelistic news…

From Baptists to Pentecostals and everybody in between, people who believe the Lord Jesus wants to save at least one billion souls by 2030 also say his prayer for unity in John 17:23 is a key to breakthrough and harvest before the return of the Lord.

That is what was driving a diverse group of local, national and international believers to convene in Colorado Springs, Colorado earlier this month.

One billion souls harvest by 2030
Four ‘greats’ – unity, breakthrough, harvest and return – inspired national and global leaders, pastors, churches, ministries, and believers from across America and other nations, including many from South Korea, at a four-day summit of prayer, worship and missions-sharing.

While Evangelicals, Pentecostals and Charismatics are united in their desire for the Billion Soul Harvest (BSH), four of the eight billion people on earth have yet to hear the gospel for the first time. About one in four – or a little more than two billion people – call themselves Christians.

The Billion Soul Harvest Global Summit (https://www.billionsoulharvest.net) was stirred by Jesus’ vision of the fields ready for harvest (John 4:35). It sought to unite believers around the goal by 2030. But more than a billion is fine, too, if Jesus tarries after 2033.

GAOLED FIREBRAND MINISTER LIVES OUT ACTS!

(July 24, 2022) Michael Ashcraft reports amazing news…

When Danish street-preacher Torben Søndergaard was arrested by the FBI recently on suspicion of smuggling arms into America, it was a real head-scratcher.

The zealous founder of The Last Reformation decided to leave Denmark after insistent pressure by authorities and the media. His abuses? Treating mental illness as if ‘it were demon possession, encouraging people to stop taking their meds when healed by God, and home-schooling his daughters.’

The Danish persecution was a case study of atheistic entities confronting a faith-filled firebrand; the non-believers marshalled their forces so unrelentingly that Torben determined his name had been tarnished irreparably in Denmark that he needed a clean start and applied for asylum in America.

An even more bizarre accusation

ASSISTING THE DISPLACED KA-REN PEOPLE

(July 8) Ross and Donna, Mandate Ministries, share greetings – and concerns – from Chiang Mai, northern Thailand…

With a boat load of supplies for the displaced Ka-ren people living in Myanmar, we travelled with our team up-river from the Thailand side to a camp on the Myanmar side.

For decades, the Ka-ren people have been under attack from the Myanmar military. Aerial bombing and ground troop attacks have decimated many of their villages. Many men, women and children have been killed – and now land mines are being placed around churches.

Last week a young boy went to a church to ask for help, stood on a mine and had his leg blown off!

CHRISTIAN PENTECOST – THE FEAST THAT NEVER ENDED

(June 1, 2022) Ed. Note: Honouring the late George Forbes, highly respected former missionary statesman, we rerun one of his special messages on Pentecost …

This weekend many churches and indeed countless Christians around the world will be celebrating Pentecost Sunday!

The Feast of Pentecost (also known as the Feast of Harvest or the Feast of Weeks) was observed by Israel over many centuries. It was an important time each year to celebrate the beginning of the early weeks of harvest with thanksgiving to God. Also a time to celebrate God’s deliverance of His people from Egypt.

After His resurrection from the grave, Jesus had given His followers a command to not depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father. He told them: ‘John truly baptised with water; but you shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit not many days from now’ (See Acts 1:4-5).

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY… MEETING NEEDS IN LOVE

May 27, 2022) David McGuire missionary to Romania, shares…

Yet again I find myself thanking Jesus for life itself – and for the honour of serving Him. And for the strength of His grace enabling Rodica and I and friends, real teamwork, help the hurting and needy, not only here in Romania but also in Ukraine when we venture up there to reach distressed Ukrainians.

And I thank you all, both personal contacts and charities contacts within the body of Christ, who pray and back us in our evangelistic ministry.

We continue to witness many great things that only God can do through the Holy Spirit as He uses us here and our ventures to Ukraine.

The reality is that He works through all of us. Do keep praying for us, please… but remember the principle is that God wants every Christian to be available to serve Him. May we all be working together for our king Jesus!

Following are some recent photos in respect of the team we work with to spread the gospel message, not only spiritually but practically with Christian love

‘MAN IN WHITE’ APPEARS TO MUSLIMS, BRINGING SALVATION

(May 14, 2022) Mark Ellis shares another good news incident…

During Ramadan, CBN News detailed some notable stories from the last few years about how Jesus has been revealing Himself to Muslims in dreams and visions.

In one story, a Middle Eastern missionary named Yazid (*name changed) shared about a man visited by Jesus every night for a month, asking him to write down what He said.

God at work in the Middle East
McLean Bible Church’s Pastor David Platt interviewed the missionary during The Gospel Coalition’s Something Needs to Change simulcast’ and Yazid had stated that ‘God is moving inside the Middle East with dreams, visions, and personal visitations.

FINDING JESUS WHILE STUDYING FOR HIS BAR-MITZVAH

(April 06, 2022) Charles Gardner shares…

An innocent question about Jesus from a primary school classmate set a 10-year-old Jewish boy from London on the road to discovering his Messiah.

Gerry Cohen, now 63, looks back on the monumental effect this has had on his life, and why he is still passionate about the need for fellow Jews to find Jesus for themselves.

In an interview with Jane Moxon for the CMJ (Church’s Ministry among Jewish people) website, Gerry recalled that time, 53 years ago, when his friend Nigel asked him: ‘What’s Jesus when you’re Jewish?”
