Author, missionary, broadcaster, and a woman of deep faith, Elisabeth Elliot (b. 1926 in Belgium) received her reward on June 15, 2015.

Mrs Elliot was the daughter of missionaries to Belgium, having five other siblings. Her family moved to United States while she was young, growing up in Pennsylvania and later New Jersey. She graduated from Wheaton College where she studied Classical Greek and met her first husband, Jim Elliot. (more…)

More news has emerged about the situation of Christians who are still being detained in Islamic State (otherwise known as ISIS), after ten elderly Christians, some with disabilities, managed to escape. World Watch Monitor (WWM – www.worldwatchmonitor.org) says the group, eight men and two women, were ‘expelled’ by IS militants for refusing to convert to Islam. (more…)

Church demolished and 37 Christians arrested

Sudanese authorities demolished part of the main church building belonging to Khartoum Bahri Evangelical Church on December 2, 2014, and arrested 37 people who were praying inside.

According to Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), police and security officers arrived at 6am in nine police vans and began demolishing part of the church building before arresting 37 people who were praying in the church. (more…)

Five million people worldwide receive Christ via Billy Graham website

An Internet evangelistic website set up by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) has just marked a milestone as the five millionth person received Christ at PeaceWithGod.net.

The ministry uses Bible verses and video presentations to share the gospel with visitors to the site, which was launched in May 2011.

‘This is significant because we’re following Billy Graham’s legacy of taking the most advanced technical capabilities available and reaching people where they are with the hope of Jesus,’ said John Cass, BGEA’s Director of Internet Evangelism. ‘This has given us the opportunity to go to the ends of the earth.’ (more…)

Three times now, Ebola survivor Dr Kent Brantly has donated his blood to a patient suffering with the deadly disease—the latest recipient being Texas nurse, Nina Pham, who contracted Ebola from caring for Thomas Eric Duncan who died last week.

The first person who received a blood transfusion using Dr Brantly’s blood was fellow humanitarian aid doctor Nick Sacra, who has recovered from Ebola and been released from the hospital. (more…)

Founder/director Sean Malone reports that CRí Relief Operations continue in Iraq: Our team has recently located a large group of Yazidi refugees who escaped the genocide in the Mt Sinjar region, perpetrated by ISIS. We are currently meeting basic needs and distributing relief supplies to them. Thanks to Samaritan’s Purse, we also were able to give over 4000 pairs of shoes to victims who had traveled for weeks on foot to save their lives.

CRí now has the ability to distribute thousands of copies of the Bible to refugees, as we also continue to meet other life sustaining needs. In addition, our teams have ministered and provided medical care to Kurdish forces on the front lines who are fighting to push back ISIS and keep refugees safe. (more…)
